Water Pumping for Agricultural Purposes

Applicability


This schedule of tariff is applicable to electricity consumption for the use of water pumps for agricultural purposes of a government agricultural agency, officially-recognized farmer groups, agricultural co-operatives through a single Watt-hour meter.

Billing Demand
A billing demand is defined as the maximum 15-minute integrated demand over the monthly billing period measured to the nearest full kilowatt discarding the fraction of 0.5 kW.

Minimum Charge
The minimum charge in any monthly billing period shall not be lower than 70% of the maximum billing demand charge of the preceding 12 months.

    • 1

      For customer who applied for Schedule 7, a contract will be needed to sign with the Metropolitan Electricity Authority while customers also need to have a water pump with a total horse speed of 25 horse speed.

      The customer under tariff No. 7.1 may choose to be under tariff No. 7.2 by notifying MEA in advance and shall pay for a TOU meter and may switch to the tariff No 7.1 following a minimum use of twelve (12) months.

      The customer whose a monthly bill is subject to collect a minimum charge at 70% of the maximum demand charge for the past twelve (12) months, shall be temporarily exempt from the minimum charge up to September 2002.

      Customers under tariff No. 7.1 shall be liable to a monthly service charge although there is no electricity consumption in that month, while the customers under tariff No. 7.2 shall be liable to a monthly service charge in addition to the minimum charge.

Conditions Relating to Electricity Tariffs

      The electricity tariffs herein do not include Value Added Tax (VAT).

      Electricity charges billed for each month comprising the electricity base charge according to the tariffs herein; and an energy adjustment charge (Ft), which is the uncontrollable cost of the Power Sector. Such as the cost of fuels used in electricity generation that differ from the planned value, impact from rate of exchange and inflation rate. The energy adjustment charge will also be shown in the electricity bill.
